The Vampire Diaries 4X22 “The Walking Dead” Review

I pretty much agreed with what Stefan said to Elena as evidenced by my last review, her choice in a target was horrendous, makes sense emotionally but logically it’s pretty imbecilic because of all the reasons I outlined in the last review.  I’m pretty sure Stefan is training her to bide the time because I don’t think any amount of training is going to help her kill Catherine.

I found myself rooting that Bonnie’s plan would work without any hitches but I was pretty sure some hitches would present themself.

I loved that the first person we saw when Bonnie let the veil down was Alaric.

The age old question of who Elena has feelings for the most of course had to be brought up in this episode, I’m honestly dying to see which one she chooses or if she doesn’t choose any, but the uncertainty is kind of annoying.

I’m pretty annoyed that after all that’s gone down we still haven’t gotten to see Silas’ face, I guess I shouldn’t have accepted the grotesque theory so quickly, now it makes me wonder if it wasn’t for grotesqueness then why doesn’t he want to show his face?

Just when we thought Bonnie had sense for once, she let us down and caused her own death, this is one of those many times she should have listened to Grams but hey at least she paved the way for some more plot lines, now they will have to find a new witch because I’m pretty sure they’ll want to put the veil back up.

I wonder if we’ll het a check in with Klaus next week, I mean we do know that there are witches there so maybe some of our friends from mystic falls will pay them a visit.

The Vampire Diaries 4x21 “She’s come undone” Review

I’m pretty sure we all knew that Stefan would never be able to stomach torturing Elena and at the beginning of the episode you could just see how bothered he was about the whole thing.  If I were to predict who would crack out of Damon and Stefan I’d definitely say Stefan, he talks a good game but we all know how he’s really taking it.

I thought for sure Caroline had some master plan when she went in to see Elena but I guess that backfired horribly.

I was thinking why doesn’t Damon get into her head and make her think she’s being tortured, something like what Lexi did to Stefan when he went into ripper mode to bring him back, something like that may just work on Elena.

Rebekah needs to learn that Matt is almost the epitome of what we call a good guy so she can’t go around saying certain things to him without him seeing her as somewhat of an evil person.

I distinctly remember when Stefan and Elena first broke up and I was discussing my views on how it all went down I was told by some members of The Vampire Diaries Jamaica as justification for their argument that Stefan was the one that broke up with Elena, well this episode was just more proof of my point that all Stefan did was voice what she couldn’t voice, he didn’t want to break up, she did, and humanity switched off Elena vocalized that point for us once again.  Julie Plec is just laying out the subtle hints as we go along.

I rather enjoy watching Damon torture Elena, he manages to make it very hilarious, not to mention I haven’t liked Elena for a while now so I feel a bit of satisfaction, I’m just waiting around for the human Elena to come back and when I say human I just mean how she was as a human, not physically transforming into a human.

It’s kind of funny how pumped Caroline was about studying and Rebekah is really transparent we can all tell she really likes Matt, her problem is she doesn’t know how to just “be” because at every angle she’s always double crossed so she has learned to not be such a nice person.

When Klaus appeared to Caroline in the back of my mind I was thinking it was Silas, in fact I have a confession to make, almost everybody that randomly appears in episodes in recent times I start out suspecting if they are Silas or not.  Turns out I was right about that.

I’m really interested to know what Bonnie has planned, I’m liking Bonnie like this a lot, she is standing on her own too feet now, isn’t just flailing around to everyone’s whim like before, I think this is the first time we’ve seen Bonnie’s plotting something by herself, she finally has the guts to do it.

Stefan’s idea to bring Catherine in to torture Elena seemed like a sound idea at it’s introduction, he’s right that Catherine would most definitely kill her but did he consider that Elena would just think that they wouldn’t allow Catherine to kill her.  But I waited for it to play out.

Silas really did a number on Caroline, she always seems to be the one to get tortured when somebody needs to be tortured to get information, well probably not every single time but it sure happens a lot, she’ll soon build up a strong threshold to all this.

I commend Stefan and Damon on fooling Elena that Damon killed Matt, pity they didn’t think of that idea sooner, it makes so much sense, how is Matt going to study now?

Good thing they didn’t kill off Caroline’s mother because I would see loads of issues with that, for one it wouldn’t be necessary to the plot, it probably would hurt it a bit because they would have to intorduce a new character to cover up all the supernatural activity, second it would be an unnecessary plot line to worry about when we still have Silas, Klaus, Bonnie and Elena’s new found need to kill Catherine asap to deal with.

I’m still anxious to see Silas’ messed up face clearly.  Also I’m wondering what exactly Bonnie is planning, I’m hoping that whatever it is it works out for the good of everyone.

I don’t think Elena’s plan to kill Catherine makes any sense right now, I mean she pops out of her humanity off situation and the first thing she wants to do is try to kill Catherine, can’t she wait until after the other issues are dealt with that are more pressing and Catherine isn’t the easiest person to kill I mean supernaturals way stronger and older than Elena have tried so I don’t know what she hopes to achieve.

I’m really interested to see what happens next week.  As we see Stefan did not leave Mystic Falls and I kinda figured he wouldn’t but let’s see how everything plays out.

Game of Thrones 3X5 Review “Kissed by Fire”

After Khaleesi some ultimate show of power in the last episode I came into this week’s episode with high expectations, mostly hoping to see more of Khaleesi this week and also of the wildlings.

The hounds battle scene with the dude from the brotherhood of no banners was a bit of a let down but at least he didn’t die because I have come to like this character. Pity Ariya doesn’t understand how their world works, she’s kinda like Ned in that regard but maybe it’s because she’s still really young.

We see John Snow is still trying to prove his allegiance to the wildlings. I must admit I didn’t expect John and Igrit’s relationship to progress so far so quickly but I guess they had to fast forward since we have only 10 episodes a season.

I felt sorry for Jaime when Lord Bolton made him think something happened to Cersei, he already had his hand cut off and lost his dignity he never needed to salt his wounds further but with that said Jaime’s relief when he found out Cersei was alive and we was somewhat amusing because of the way he fell to the floor. I’m pretty sure Brienne is feeling the epitome of pity for him, too bad she’s alone in her feelings.

When the dude was peeling away the rotting flesh from Jaime’s arm I almost Couldn’t bare to watch it, but at least we see some of his male ego is still intact when he opted out of milk of poppy.

I’m not sure why Cersei believes she can trust Baylish, part of me is wondering if she’s plotting against him but I think right now he’s of no importance to her. I think though it’s highly likely he may double cross her with any information he gives about the Tyrell’s, that’s if it becomes necessary for him to hide information from her.

If I did a review of last week’s episode I would have voiced my respect for Marjorie’s grandmother, she’s hardcore, the meeting between Tyrion and her was a recipe for laughter to be had.

As we see Tyrion is syncing into Baylish’s role as master of coin.

I always figured Rob wasn’t up to the task of being a leader, he has good battle strategies but that’s about it and this episode and others proves my point, he couldn’t make his own decisions, he had to let his mother, wife and Uncle advise him on what to do. None of which are necessarily the best advisors, I mean his mother impulsively freed Jaime Lannister, his uncle impulsively went into battle disobeying his orders and his wife was a neutral medic who doesn’t even condone war much less to give advice on strategic movements in one. Even if their advice works out which is highly likely, he should have thought of it himself. Then instead of doing something that makes sense he chose to lose men over his ego.

I was excited to see more about Stannis’ wife in this episode, she embodies her description well, the babies in jars was a nice touch and seeing his daughter. I also loved seeing Stannis, he’s a looker.

I’m not sure whether Jaime likes Brienne or Brienne likes Jaime or they both like each other but it seems like the writers are subtly hinting at an attraction, I could tell Jaime was planning to join Brienne in the bath, it was kinda hilarious. I loved that they finally let Jaime divulge what occurred with the mad king and to Brienne.

I’m so anxious to see Khaleesi’s unsullied in battle, I’m definitely losing patience in he storyline.

When Rob came up with the idea to take casterly rock I was pleased because thus far he was looking terribly weak minded.  Will he succeed with this plan? I have no idea but I’m interested to see how this plays out.

I know most people hate Sansa but I don’t really, I mostly pity her so I’m glad she’s catching a break for now. I’m hoping Marjorie is sincere but we have no way of knowing since she’s a master manipulater plus her brother is homosexual as we know so I don’t know how that possible marriage would play out for Sansa if it occurs because as we saw the guy that lay with Laurys was planted by Baylish, I figured he was planning something but I didn’t consider this, this just makes me even more interested in seeing what he’s going to do with Cersei.

Now I’m wondering if Baylish is the one who told Cersei about the Tyrell’s intentions for Sansa, logically it would make sense because freeing her up from Laurys would give him the opportunity to marry her like he wants. I think that’s the only way he’d aid Cersei  if it benefits him which it would.

I was pretty much shocked when Tywin implied that Tyrion wed Sansa, probably just as shocked as Tyrion was , no wonder Cersei had a big smile on her face, that development made me doubt Baylish’s involvement in Cersei finding out, well unless she tricked him somehow. Tyrion would be a great husband to her still. Cersei’s smile was clearly short lived when Tywin told her what she had to do, I kinda feel sorry for her, she is the way she is because of how Tywin treats them.

I’m pretty sure next week will be great, the building up has been going on long enough.

The Vampire Diaries “The Originals” Season 4 Episode 20 Review

When the episode started we saw that catherine is back in mystic falls, that was my first indication that the episode would not be our run of the mill episode, something was gonna come to a head or some new plot point is going to become apparent, we were kind of briefed on this in the ending of last week’s episode when klaus recieved catherines letter. In mystic falls about 90% of the characters introduced families have some connection to the supernatural, never thought hayley was any different.

I was somewhat disappointed when I realised klaus was going to leave mystic falls only because I wanted to see some klaroline scenes but I was pretty sure him leaving was vital to the major plot line of the episode.

Rebekah was so right to refer to their family as distrustful acquaintances that share a bloodline,  that was hilarious. Not to mention when elijah said he’d either help klaus or the witches depending on his mood,  I feel like he’d help klaus though, we’ve been down that road before.

I’m definitely team klaus, I see where he is capable of change and for once he wasn’t really actively plotting to harm the innocent so I was definitely thinking those witches needed to take a chill pill and stop trifling with supernaturals that aren’t trifling with them.

I already disliked Marcel the moment he came into frame, he exuded perpetual conceitedness. Also as we moved along in the episode I felt like he was definitely putting on a front as if he worships klaus, as if,  he loves himself too much there’s no space for him to love klaus. With all that said, he’s definitely more than nice to look at.

Marcel’s minions seemed to not realise that Klaus or any of his family aren’t supernaturals you can trifle with just like that and also Marcel himself is a bit too calm and sure of himself around klaus.

I love when Elijah makes an entrance, it’s usually sexy and/or utterly hardcore and this episode was no different, also the questions he asked the witch just about proved my earlier assumption that he’d help klaus even though he tried to trivialise the situation at the whim of his mood.

I was expectedly happy when klaus schooled Marcel about new orleans being his town, I get that Klaus hasn’t been there in a while but Marcel needs to see to it that his people and even him show respect where it is due, he cannot treat klaus like some random dude visiting.

So earlier I had seen a spoiler about hayley’s pregnancy but that didn’t stop the scene from being totally shocking, it’s kind of like when you hear of something and you’re in disbelief then it’s confirmed, the look on klaus’ face was indeed priceless. Of course i must discuss the fact that her pregnancy is even possible, first of all werewolves are basically human since klaus is partly werewolf I think it’s logical to assume that it is possible for him to impregnate a human, I probably would have thought of this theory earlier if Caroline was human and they were partaking in regular coitus but alas I like klaus regarded the hayley situation as a one night stand.

I think Joseph Morgan did some of his best work in that scene, his portrayal of klaus’ emotions when he heard the baby’s heartbeat in hayley’s stomach even made me feel something, in fact more than just something I felt a lot in that scene.  And as if that scene wasn’t emotional enough elijah’s attempt to convince klaus to help the witches was just as emotional. But i think elijah is overestimating how klaus will act, I think it was a bit too fast for him to run along and happily embrace his responsibility to hayley and his child.

Knowing klaus he always needs an indirect nudge in the right direction. When he called Caroline I thought it was really adorable, she is one of the little things about klaus that makes you realised he isn’t as ruthless as he wants everyone to believe and we see he finally got his indirect nudge near the end of the episode, I think part of the reason he shed a tear is because he loves Caroline and his child would never be birthed by her.

I’m not sure moving the whole Michaelson family to new orleans is a good idea in the scheme of things though, I’m pretty sure Marcel will suspect something and then hayley and the baby may come into trouble.  So it’s a good thing rebekah denied elijah. I’m pretty sure elijah isn’t going to take catherine up on her offer, she should know that.

I’m interested to see how damon and stefan will fair at their attempt to break elena, in my opinion that’s the most sound idea they’ve had in a while but it’ll probably be more challenging than they bargain for because elena is pretty resilient.

Overall the episode was awesome, though we basically saw none of the main cast the emergence of this new plot point is very exciting though in the back of my mind I’m still thinking about what silas’ next move will be.

Can’t wait till next week.

The Vampire Diaries “Pictures of You” Episode Review

  • Bonnie was so bad-ass in this episode (i loved it!)
  • I may or may not have felt a little bad for Rebeka
  • More Elijah (yipeee!)
  • The photo walkway into prom was awesome! But it totally made me wonder what kind of prom budget do we have at Mystic Falls?!
  • Emotionless Elena is still being a bee-yatch!

Spartacus: War of the Damed Series Finale Review “Victory”

I must say coming into this episode I expected a bitter-sweet end, that is, I knew it would be epic but I also anticipated the death of spartacus because at it’s core this series has stayed true to the history of spartacus.  I must say though that I’m happy that spartacus would fall to someone like Crassus and not Glaber.

The beginning of the episode really shed light on the fact that spartacus’ movement has far surpassed the man himself, so it makes complete sense that they use his name to continue to place fear on the hearts of the romans.

I was also glad to see that Crassus didn’t allow his loss of Tiberius to cloud his judgement, he still is not underestimating Spartacus.

As suspected Gannicus does hold Sybil in his heart which is giving him even more incentive to want to help Spartacus but he still doesn’t seem to embrace that he is as much an integral part of the movement as spartacus is, will he live on to take the leadership roll after the final battle ensues and spartacus meets his demise?  Was a question I asked myself as I watched the episode.  If you’ve watched any of my previous vlogs you would have heard me mention that I think Sybil would be a good thing for Gannicus and in his own words he did say that she was sent to save him and not the other way around, to me that’s proof that she did make him want to become a better man.

Kore made a brave move surrendering herself to go back with Caesar to Crassus but I guess she knew that he wouldn’t kill her because of his love for her as farfetched as it seems though I do wish that he would forgive her.  Since the introduction of Crassus, Kore has been one of the things that make us see his softer side and part of what has made me appeal to his character, that and the fact that he never underestimated spartacus and also had himself trained by a gladiator, he doesn’t see gladiators like the other romans and that makes him admirable.  It was nice to see him preparing himself to face off with spartacus in battle, though if I’m to think about it, it’s almost not a fair fight because spartacus has been fighting all along and has amassed injuries, etc, while crassus has just been waiting for the final stand.

I was brought to tears when spartacus gave the parting speech, it was really touching to see the love the people have for spartacus.

Crassus bringing the fire balls to the battle was overkill in my opinion, I think he went from underestimating spartacus to overestimating spartacus, I guess an honourable battle went out the back door when tiberius died? Then when he sent the scout to summon spartacus I was thinking hmm Crassus has something up his sleeve now, because it made no sense to me that he was prepping himself to face off with spartacus when he brought those fire balls which could end spartacus before he even got to fight with him.  I must say the talk between crassus and spartacus was very exciting, we got to actually see the similsrities between both men up close and I bet they both saw that in another life they probably could have been friends, the handshake at the end just proves the twisted connection they now have.

I figured the truth about Kore and Tiberius would come out at some point I just didn’t envision it would be through spartacus but that was only because I didn’t forsee Crassus having a talk with him before battle, I too thought that Kore should have told him because even though his faith in tiberius was strengthened at the time I think he would have beleived Kore over tiberius, what he would have done about it I’m not sure but I don’t doubt he would have believed her, anyways this made for an exciting twist in the storyline, I thought maybe there was hope for forgiveness of kore afterall and that proved to be true.

Spartacus gazing at the map of thrace brought me back to season 1  when he had just gone into battle alongside Glaber and afterwards how they took him as a slave, those were the days, well at least before ensalvement.  But just thinking about how the show has evolved from those days and the days of the arena and batiatus, it has been an awesome ride.

Also it seemed Gannicus finally embraced the leadership position spartacus has been trying to get him to embrace all season. I waited to see what final plan spartacus had up his sleeve, if the promo was any indication I thought part of that plan would have him leaping off a ramp.

I feel like when Crassus gave his little speech to his men there was no heart in it, I think he doesn’t care about the so-called glory of rome, he just wants to  gain respect from rome by beating spartacus, I am not saying there’s anything wrong with his motives but  he’s definitely cloaking his ambitions with that speech.

When I saw the trap spartacus layed for the romans I couldn’t hold in my screams of excitement, then an archer top off, can’t expect any less from the bringer of rain am I right? and of course I knew it wouldn’t shock Crassus as much as it would other romans, it just made it that much more exciting, caesar was visibly shocked though which I found hilarious, you would think his time among them would have taught him that spartacus is no imbecile.

and as if the trench and archers wasn’t enough, our bringer of rain layed those ramps on top of the romans and lunged forth, that my friends proves my earlier prediction from the promo of that being part of the spartacus’ master plan, I didn’t envision all of what occured though, saying it was awesome is an understatement, now I did see crassus look slightly surprised when that started to happen.

Agron showed form with the weapon Nazir fashioned for him, I’m glad he got to stand on the field of battle.

Every time I thought the episode couldn’t get more exciting, another strategy from spartacus rears it’s head, when Gannicus and the men rode in behind crassus I couldn’t stifle my screams of excitement once again, I know all season I’ve been prediciting spartacus’ fall but all these magnificent ideas spartacus came up with made it harder ad harder for me to hold to my opinion, I felt myself clinging to the hope that he would win this battle.

Glad to see that at the end of the day Crassus still kept himself in check and didn’t panick, formidable foe indeed.

The salecian proved himself worthy in battle. RIP.

I bet Crassus never expected beat down off his horse by spartacus, but really he hasn’t underestimated spartacus’ strategy and intelligence all along so why did he underestimate his fighting abilities, I mean spartacus fought other gladiators too not just romans and won, so just because crassus has training as a gladiator means he can defeat spartacus so easily, I mean he’s never even been on the sands of the arena before, let’s face it he’s only fought one person/gladiator to the death.  It was somewhat disappointing to him allow the soldiers to wisk him away after spartacus gave him a flesh wound, what happened to all the confidence he had before and that need to fight spartacus?

I was excited but scared to see the inevitable showdown between gannicus and caeser and also spartacus and crassus because the looming threat of the series staying true to history has been present this whole season.

RIP saxa.

I prepared myself to see a lot of characters I love die in this finale.  As morbid as this sounds better they die than they leave us hanging with some uncertain future for these characters for all eternity.

RIP Naevia.

RIP other dude that I can’t recall your name but you’ve been around since beginning.

Even with the wounds that put spartacus at a disadvantage, I am 100% sure he would have won if the soldiers didn’t come to Crassus’ aid. I’m sure Crassus say his life before his eyes.

Gannicus and Caesar now, Caesar is a fassy, he’s a vag, he wouldn’t even show down with Gannicus by himself.  I must admit I did not see this end for Gannicus, I thought all along he would lead the rebellion in Spartacus’ stead.

I must admit, I know Crassus has his ways but I didn’t expect him to crucify Kore, I probably should have though, I mean he did sentence his own son to decimation for disobeying his command.

RIP Spartacus.

That was an epic finale to an epic series. I am going to miss it dearly.

I love that they showed all past characters in the end credits and also including Andi Witfield.
